OIKOS

OIKOS is a New Testament word that means “household”: It refers to the network of relationships people have in various life contexts (home, school, work, neighborhood, etc.) that God has provided in which Christians can live out the gospel as witnesses.  At NCF our OIKOS ministry is comprised of both our Oikos Groups and Beacon ministry.

Oikos Groups

Oikos Groups are our primary scattered ministry at NCF.  The primary purpose of Oikos Groups is to cultivate Christian community that intentionally prays for and evangelizes non-Christians from among group members relational networks (persons of peace or POP’s).

Have questions before joining? Open your Church Center app and click Groups > Oikos > OG Group > Contact and someone will get back to you soon! You can also speak directly to any of our OG leaders or email Pastor Charles at pastorclee@nyncf.org.

Our Oikos Group curriculum:

All Oikos Groups in the Spring 2024 semester will focus on a bible study.

Our Oikos Groups leaders meet once a month to go over the curriculum, pray for their group members and each other.

Beacon

Beacon investigates and informs our congregation of local Christian organizations that serve the broken, forgotten and forsaken in New York City.  The members of Beacon work closely with our Oikos Groups so that OG members and their Person of Peace (POP) can participate in serving the needs of the city through these approved ministries.
